About me
I am an Australian-based artist best known for creating ultra-detailed hand-drawn line drawings presented in an abstract style. My drawings depict interpretations of the unconscious mind as well as the growth of spiritual awareness in the conscious mind. Thoughts and emotions are illustrated with single and multilayered fields of colour, black and white and are represented by nerve-like structures or vibrations which are free-flowing and ridged.
I started drawing over 20 years ago, although the creation of the majority of my art was born out of a time of extreme hardship. It served as a coping mechanism to help clear my mind from unwanted thoughts about the past and future, which were undoubtedly destructive. I receive inspiration by meditating to tap into cosmic creativity and channel ancient wisdom into my art.
I create my art on paper using felt-tipped, ball-point pens and graphite pencils. The technique I utilise, although repetitive, reflects my patience, resilience and perseverance to push through the many obstacles in life. I gain a tremendous amount of satisfaction when I complete an artwork. I will spend anywhere from 10 - 200+ hours on one piece.
Asides from drawing, you will find me creating amazing recipes in the kitchen, tending to my hundreds of indoor house plants or playing with my fluffy cat Sparky!
I believe that all illness and sickness are a result of an unbalanced mind. Through my art, I wish to expose the fragility of the human mind and the importance of prioritising mental health. My goal is to help dissolve the self-created delusions of the mind, to surrender to the idea of realms existing beyond time and space and to let go of the egoic mind. I also wish for the viewer to relate to the successes and struggles of life and to our universal human desire to find peace.
